Edward M. Bury, APR earned the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential in 2004. He is one of 3,800 professional communicators worldwide who currently hold the APR.
The APR is awarded to public relations practitioners who:
- Have exhibited an exemplary standard of character and general fitness for the profession.
- Have demonstrated a high level of competence in the practice of public relations.
- Have successfully passed a challenging written and oral examination.
- Have demonstrated a real interest in the development and growth of the public relations profession.
Mr. Bury served from 2005 to 2011 as a member of the Universal Accreditation Board, which grants, administers and markets the APR credential. His volunteer efforts included serving as chair or co-chair of the Marketing Communications work group and managing the UAB website.
He also served as 2005 Chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Accreditation Marketing Committee and was a member of the PRSA 2010 Nominating Committee. And, he is a long-time Accreditation Chair and a long-standing member of the Chicago PRSA Chapter.
